LUCKNOW: Three new flyovers will ease traffic woes in the clogged roads of Old City. The plan for the three flyovers has been finalised by Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation and it has asked departments like Jal Nigam and Lucknow Municipal Corporation to facilitate project initiation.
The first flyover will be constructed on Guru Govind Singh Marg. It will connect Husainganj crossing with DAV College via Basmandi crossing and Naka Hindola crossing.
It will cover a total length of 1,656 metres.
The second flyover, which will be of two lanes, will be constructed on Vikram Cotton Mill Marg. It will connect Charak crossing with Haiderganj crossing, covering a length of over 2,400 metres.
The third flyover will come up on Tulsidas Marg (Victoria Street). It will connect Haiderganj trisection with Meena Bakery. This two-lane flyover will cover a distance of 908 metres.
On Monday, Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation asked LMC to aid in the project by removing encroachments on the routes of the proposed flyovers.
In a letter sent to LMC, the bridge corporation has also asked LMC to pre-fix a date for anti-encroachment drive in the said areas so that work can be begun. The construction work is likely to begin in the New Year.
