LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy CMs, ministers and senior party leaders took part in bike rallies as BJP cadres took out Kamal Sandesh Yatra across Uttar Pradesh on Saturday in a bid to connect with voters ahead of 2019 general elections. The rallies led to massive traffic chaos in cities as participants flouted traffic rules as many rode bikes without helmets.

CM Yogi flagged off the rally in Prime Minisyter Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi while deputy CMs Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya attended the events at Lucknow and Prayagraj, respectively.
Speaking in Varanasi, CM Yogi recounted various schemes and projects of Union government. "Our country has touched new heights under the leadership of PM Modi and it is an honour for us that he represents Varanasi in parliament. Kashi and UP should send a strong message to entire country, especially to our cadre in the five states that are going in for assembly polls," he said.
Rattling off central government's achievements, Yogi said that to make India one of the most powerful countries, it was necessary to continue on the path of development and that the bike rally has been organised to remind people of the work done by BJP governments at Centre and in states.
UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey, who led the bike rally in Chandauli, said that the rally was organised to tell people that BJP's only agenda is development.
