164 Covid-19 patients cured in Ludhiana district till now: Deputy commissioner

LUDHIANA: Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal on Saturday informed that under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government, the number of Covid-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. Till date, 164 persons have been declared cured and discharged from hospitals in the district.
He stated that 9 more positive cases have been reported in the district in last 24 hours time.
These patients include 2 from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, 3 from Prem Nagar, 1 Byepass, 1 Akalgarh and 2 Ishar Nagar.
Agrawal informed that because a total of 15 cases have come from Chawni Mohalla alone, the district administration and health department has declared it as a containment zone. He informed that curfew like situation would be maintained in this area and no person would be allowed to leave or enter the Chawni Mohalla. He said that this entire area has been sealed and only essential services would be allowed here.
He informed that as per the "Mission Fateh" started by the Punjab government, the number of patients getting cured is increasing with each passing day. He said that till date, a total of 164 patients have been discharged from hospital after getting cured.
He further said that till date, a total of 10199 samples have been taken, out of which report of 9702 samples has been received, of 9370 samples is negative and report of 497 samples is pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 235, while 97 patients are related to other districts/states. He said that unfortunately 9 people from Ludhiana and 7 from other districts have lost their lives. He said that 164 patients related to district Ludhiana have been discharged from hospital after treatment.

He informed that till date, 7799 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 1613. Today, 223 persons were sent for home quarantine. He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected Covid-19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 392 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly. He appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga informed that as per directions of the Punjab government, any person not wearing mask would be fined Rs 500, if any bus owner, car owner or auto rickshaw/two-wheeler owner does not follow social distancing rules, then they would be fined Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 respectively. Any person breaking home quarantine would be fined Rs 2,000 and any person spitting in public place would be fined Rs 500.
