30-yr-old man kidnapped over property issue, alleges sister
Ludhiana: A woman, Inderpreet Kaur, has accused two men of Raiyan village for kidnapping her 30-year-old brother with the intention of grabbing his property. She also alleged that the accused would force her brother to have drugs to acquire his property. On her complaint, Meharban police have booked Ranveer Singh and Maninderjit Singh — both residents of Raiyan village.
Inderpreet, also from Raiyan village, stated that after the death of their parents, she and her brother Gurinder Singh started living with their maternal grandmother Parkash Kaur, aunt Inderjit Kaur, and maternal uncle Damanvir Singh in Mattewara village.

She alleged that the accused, who were their relatives, wanted to grab their ancestral property, transferred in her brother’s name, by making him a drug addict. She also alleged that the accused had already pushed her brother into drugs, after which he was admitted in a de-addiction centre. She said on Friday, the accused had kidnapped her brother from home with the intention of pushing him into drugs again, so that they could grab his property.
Investigating officer, sub-inspector Satvir Singh, said a case under sections 365 (kidnapping) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. The police are trying to trace the accused and the victim.
