PATIALA: The 22nd annual conference of Punjab ophthalmic society got underway at Harpal Tiwana auditorium on Saturday during which ophthalmologists from across the state will be sharing latest advents in the related field.
Dr Namrata Sharma, professor at AIIMS Delhi, who is also general secretary of All India Society for Ophthalmology, said the main objective of holding such conferences was to disseminate knowledge and updates regarding newer techniques and procedures among new ophthalmic surgeons.
Dr J S Randhawa, organiser of the conference said that around 400 specialist doctors are participating out of which around 50 eye surgeons will be presenting their research works. Dr Randhawa briefed about the works in social welfare done by the society.
