Akali councillor accused of violating poll code

Ludhiana: A resident of ward number 54 Raman Ramesh has registered a complaint with district election officer on Friday against Akali councillor Manpreet Singh Manna and a few MC officials for violating the model code of conduct.
Raman, a resident of ward number 54, has alleged that the councillor went on a hunger strike on March 19 against MC for fulfilment of his demands near Gurdwara Chevi Patshahi so as to gain political mileage.
He said after a while the MC officials including XEN Pardeep Kumar, JE Jatinder Singh sodhi, XEN Balwinder Singh, SDO Rajinder Kumar reached the site, along with SAD district president Ranjit Dhillon, and offered juice to councillor for ending his fast. He added that it was a violation of the model code of conduct and hence an action should be taken against them.
