Biology exam easy, accountancy tricky

Biology exam easy, accountancy tricky
Ludhiana: Students of Class XII of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) appeared for their biology and accountancy papers on Wednesday.
Accountancy students found long questions worth six marks tricky and were upset to find that a one-mark question was not specified in their textbooks. Those who gave their biology exam were a happier lot as everything was within the syllabus.

Jaswinder Kaur, a student of Class XII, who appeared for biology paper, said, “The exam went fairly well. Some short questions of two marks were asked in four-mark questions. Most of the important topics had been covered in the paper.”
Another student Ravia Parveen who appeared for Biology exam said, “The exam was barely lengthy and all the expected questions were there. I explained my questions with points, diagrams to make sure that my answers were as detailed as possible.”
Commerce students unlike their medical counterparts were a harrowed lot.
Anubhav Abrol, an accountancy teacher at RS Model, said, “It was an average paper. Students who had practised enough will able to score well. A question of six marks was tricky which even the above average students found challenging to solve.”
Himanshu Baweja, a commerce student said, “The question paper was interesting and neither was it too easy, not too difficult. I completed it on time. However, the long questions were tricky which did not leave me enough time to revise the answers.”
Simran, another commerce student said, “I faced no issues as such and completed the paper on time. However, one question asking what was a coupon rate was out of syllabus. The concept is not mentioned in the book. Students will straight away lose a mark.”
