Chances of light showers in coming days: Met
Ludhiana: The residents can finally take a sigh of relief as the city will witness rainfall in the next few days, according to the Met department. As the summer is at its peak, the temperature on Sunday was recorded above normal.
The Met department officials at Chandigarh said there are chances of light showers in the city for the next three days. They added that rain may be coupled with thunderstorm or dust storm.
The officials said while rain may bring the mercury down, the night temperature might remain the same.
In the meanwhile the maximum (day) temperature in city on Sunday was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees above normal. The day temperature in Ludhiana on Saturday was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius, which was also two degrees above normal.
On Sunday, the minimum (night) temperature in the city was recorded at 27.9 degrees which is two degrees above normal and 2.2 degrees more than on Saturday.
The residents are meanwhile bearing the brunt of the heat as temperatures have risen during the last few days.“After rainfall on Thursday evening, the weather had become pleasant only for a day. The sweltering summer is forcing us to use air-conditioners round-the-clock. I had planned a trip to Manali but had to cancel the programme as it is overcrowded by tourists,” said Narinder Singh, a resident of Pakhowal road.
