Depressed over delayed visa, man commits suicide in Ludhiana
LUDHIANA: A day before flight of his wife to Canada, a 24-year-old newly-wed man hanged self at his house in Kabir Nagar on Tuesday. At the time of the incident the wife and mother of the deceased have gone to market for shopping. According to information the man wanted to migrate to Canada along with his wife however his visa get delayed due to which he was depressed.
The deceased has been identified as Inderjit Singh who was a worker at a cement Company.
He had married to Komal of Krishan Preet Vihar of Moga in November 2018.
While Visa of Komal has arrived, she was going to Canada on Wednesday, however Inderjeet’s Visa application was under process.
ASI Gurmeet Singh, incharge at police post Sherpur, who is investigating the case, said that Komal has promised Inderjit that she will speed up the process of his migration to Canada after reaching there.
He added that Inderjit Singh has gone to market with his wife and mother for shopping at Gill road. In the afternoon he left the place stating that he has some urgent work to do and hanged self with ceiling fan after reaching home.
The family came to know about the incident when his wife and mother came home. They raised the alarm after reaching finding him hanging with the fan.
The police have inquest proceedings under section 174 of CrPC following the statement of family members.
