Hooligans, beware! Tight security cover today

Ludhiana: Holi will be celebrated in the city amid tight security, with check-posts covering all prominent markets and some residential areas.
The city police will act strictly with people creating hooliganism. About 1,000 cops and 220 traffic cops will be on the roads. According to officials, about 40 check posts will be established at main markets and roads of Sarabha Nagar, Sat Paul Mittal Road, Ghumar Mandi, Ferozepur Road, Gill Road, Southern Bypass, Haibowal, Old City and Chandigarh Road.Besides, all patrolling vehicles will be deployed across the city.
Additional deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Tarun Rattan said 220 traffic cops will conduct challaning drives. “Residents can approach police through 112 helpline to report violations or hooliganism,” he added.
