Ludhiana civic body demolishes 4 illegal colonies

LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation on Tuesday demolished four illegal colonies in Jaspal Banger and Kanganwal areas.
The developers of these colonies have been issued a warning in this regard.
The officials claimed the civic body will recommend FIR against these developers if they fail to comply with the norms.
The MC officials dismantled the under-construction roads and sewerage works going on in these colonies.
Out of the four colonies, three are situated in Jaspal Banger and one is in Kanganwal.
The assistant town planner of zone C Harvinder Honey said, "We dismantled the under-construction illegal colonies with a warning to developers for stopping illegal activities and get permission for colonies properly."
Honey said there will be FIR against such developers who will not listen to the civic body.
As per the regularisation policy, the colonies developed after March 19, 2018 should be demolished immediately because these colonies are not supposed to be covered under the policy. The policy is valid till February 18, 2019.
Meanwhile, two applications have been submitted in zone C for regularisation of two illegal colonies known as Rudra Enclave and Sarpanch Colony.
The MC officials claimed these are first two cases that came for regularisation under the policy.
