Ludhiana jailbreak: Four jail officials suspended
LUDHIANA: Four officials of Ludhiana Central Jail, on Tuesday, have been suspended in the matter pertaining to the fleeing of two inmates. The Jail minister, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa took the action after an enquiry ordered into the incident found the officers in absolute negligence of the duties.
The minister, Randhawa said that four officials of Ludhiana Central Jail, including Superintendent Jail Shamsher Singh Boparai, Deputy Superintendent Manjit Singh Tiwana, Assistant Superintendent Parwinder Singh and Head Warder Nishan Singh have been suspended for being negligent on duty.

On May 13, an undertrials brother duo- Harvinder Singh and Jasvir Singh- accused of burglary at Andhra Bank, Rasulra branch of Khanna, had escaped form Ludhiana Central Jail. The jail officials were clueless about their disappearance till next afternoon.
Later during investigation the local police identified that the inmates have taken help of CCTV cables and wall clips to escape from Jail.
Importantly, inquiry was marked to IG-prison RK Arora after which the officials have been suspended on Tuesday.
