People from all walks of life and from different states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Haryana also participated.
The categories involved 2km, 5km, 10km and 21km marathons. Runners, especially the ones aged above 50 years, won the hearts of all gathered at the marathon.
Speaking on gender equality, Bhumi Raj Singh, who is a national-level runner and has a record of covering 10kms within 30 minutes, said, “Violence against women can be in physical, sexual, emotional and economic form. We want to spread awareness among public about the atrocities that many women go through. There are several cases of murder which are falsely labelled as ‘suicides’ or ‘accidents.’”
