Soon, rly food stall owners to store medicines
Ludhiana: Railway authorities have recently directed food stall owners on different platforms to store generic medicines on their premises to help passengers in cases of emergency. Once implemented, this would be a huge relief to passengers travelling in long-route trains.
Local authorities have been notified to ask the food stall owners to introduce the service soon so that passengers can avail the benefits at the earliest.

Ludhiana railway station director, Abhinav Singla, said, “Railways has already directed all food stall owners to store generic medicines on their premises so that passengers can easily purchase the same in case of any emergency. In the initial stage, food stall owners would store only those medicines which are easily available in medical stores and do not require a prescription.”
Passengers hailed the decision taken by the railway authorities as earlier they had to rush outside the station premises looking for drug stores whenever in need of generic medicines.
