Staff of Ludhiana deputy commissioner continue pen down strike
LUDHIANA: The employees of all offices under deputy commissioner, Ludhiana, staged a demonstration against the state government for not fulfilling their demands. The employees of registry offices, ADC, SDM and other branches are on a pen down strike since Monday due to which the common people are suffering as their work is not being done at any of the offices under the deputy commissioner’s charge.
The association members have cleared that their strike will continue for the entire week.
Meanwhile giving more information about the strike, Parkash Singh Gill, president of DC office employees union Ludhiana said, “Our pen down strike has entered the third day today. We have been forced to take this step as our legitimate demands are pending from years now and government is paying no attention to these. Some of our major demands include increasing the quota of promotion of senior assistant to naib tehsildar to 25 per cent, giving old pension scheme to the employees who joined after April 1, 2004, filling up vacant posts superintendents, employing more staff in subdivisions etc. The employees in all districts are also on strike and we have decided not to work for the entire week unless the government accepts our demands”
