LUDHIANA: Panic gripped Dhindsa village near Samrala after pages of Sri Gutka Sahib (Sikh
holy book) were found strewn in the village on Sunday. Police has meanwhile registered a case against unidentified accused and started probing the matter.
Surinderpal Singh, on whose statement case was registered, told cops that on Sunday morning they saw torn pages of Holy Book scattered on the road and inside their cattle shed while they had gone to attend to their cattle.
He added that they then informed the village Panchayat and later
Sarpanch of the village informed the Samrala police.
On receiving information about the incident, Senior Police officers of Khanna police reached the spot and started probe into the matter.
SHO Samrala, inspector Sukhvir Singh said that they have registered a case under section 295-A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of
Indian Penal Code.
Police officials said that CCTVs installed in the area are being scanned to dole out clues to ascertain the identity of the accused.
