Karnataka rains: MRPL Phase III shutdown due to landslide

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has shut down its Phase-III units as a precautionary measure because of the minor landslide in the area after the monsoon fury in the district.

MANGALURU: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has shut down its Phase-III units as a precautionary measure because of the minor landslide in the area after the monsoon fury in the district.
The landslide has affected a pipe rack carrying pipelines between the process units and as a precautionary measure, the units in the Phase-III complex have been temporarily shut down. Actions have been initiated for the stabilization of the pipe rack and resolving the matter.
The Phase-I and Phase-II of the refinery complex as well as the product dispatch facilities remain unaffected and operating normally, a release issued by MRPL Corporate Communications said.
