Bombay high court grants matka queen medical bail

The Bombay HC granted permission to Jaya Chedda, the former wife of late matka king Suresh Bhagat, to go to Singapore for 45 days to be treated for a rare disease. Chedda furnished medical reports from HN Reliance Hospital stating she is suffering from ‘recurrent uveitis, probable sarcoid’.

MUMBAI: The Bombay HC granted permission to Jaya Chedda, the former wife of late matka king Suresh Bhagat, to go to Singapore for 45 days to be treated for a rare disease. Chedda furnished medical reports from HN Reliance Hospital stating she is suffering from ‘recurrent uveitis, probable sarcoid’.
The court said she must provide details of her doctor’s appointment and travel dates, and deposit an additional security of Rs 5 lakh.
In 2013, Chedda, among others, was sentenced to life for the murder of Bhagat and six others.
