Charred body found on highway at Virar

MUMBAI: A charred body, probably of a woman was found in the dense forest of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway at Virar on Sunday.
Police suspect that the body may have been set on fire in the wee hours. While it appears to be a woman, the badly burnt body has been sent for autopsy.
The body was spotted by a local near the Mahadev temple on the highway. Police reached the spot and carried out of a search of the area.
A case of murder has been registered against unknown people by the Virar police.
