MUMBAI: The rain on Wednesday helped fill up the seven lakes that supply water to the city. While bigger lakes like Bhatsa and
Modak Sagar received 75mm and 17mm of rainfall respectively, smaller ones like
Tulsi recorded 36mm and Vihar 21mm.
On Thursday, the seven lakes had 2.23 lakh million litres (or 15.42%) of total required water stock. Last year, the same day, the total stock of 1.34 lakh million litres (or 9.28 %).
Civicofficials said they hope that the lakes will get their fill with a favourable
monsoon forecast for the year.
