MUMBAI: A 19-year-old woman, her brother and their father were arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening a woman police constable at GTB Nagar railway station on Saturday. The woman's father, Tilakraj Uppal, a cabbie, was also booked for molestation after he tore a portion of her uniform.
It started after a TC found the woman, Ekta Uppal, travelling ticketless.
She said her brother had her ticket and got into an argument with the TC who sent for a woman cop. As Ekta was taken to the TCs' office, she called up her brother, Yashraj (21) and father Tilakraj (52) and started arguing with the woman. Tilakraj allegedly grabbed her uniform, broke two buttons, tore off her pocket and twisted her arm.
The constable informed her superior, senior inspector Rajendra Pal. "I reached there with five staffers... The Uppals were very aggressive. An FIR was filed against them," said Pal.
