The incident was reported around 10pm on Wednesday. Two employees were carrying the gold, worth Rs 42 lakh, for polishing. They were on Jaywant Sawant Road when four men accosted them. The accused started to scream 'Chor, Chor' and run which left the two employees confused.
The accused snatched their bag of gold and assaulted them. No major injuries were sustained.
The employees informed their superior and later approached the police to lodge a complaint. CCTVs on the stretch are being examined.
