Mumbai witnesses pre-monsoon showers
First thunder of the season was heard in Mumbai about 11.20pm on Sunday accompanied with light drizzle
MUMBAI: After a scorching summer, Mumbai witnessed some relief as pre-monsoon showers were recorded in many parts of the city and its neighbouring areas on Sunday night.
Areas like Kalyan, Dombivli, Ulhasnagar and parts of Navi Mumbai witnessed the initial showers, while Mahim, Shivaji Park in Dadar, Khar and Ghatkopar witnessed a drizzle later.
The IMD Colaba observatory recorded rain of 1 mm and the Santacruz observatory 3.2 mm.

Weathermen said the first thunder of the season was heard in Mumbai about 11.20pm on Sunday accompanied with light drizzle for a while.
While June 10 was the date for the official arrival of monsoon in Mumbai, it has been delayed.
The onset of monsoon in Kerala too was delayed this year by a week.
