MUMBAI: The 2008
Malegaon blast accused and newly-elected MP,
Pragya Singh Thakur, was granted
exemption from appearance by a special
NIA court on Saturday.
Thakur's lawyers told court that she had intended to come on Saturday but they had advised her not to come as the court was on leave. They said that if she was not advised properly it was their fault and she should not be blamed. Last month, the court had directed all accused to be present at least once a week.
On Friday, the court had adjourned the trial proceedings to Monday. Thakur has come before the court last week.
Six persons were killed and over 100 injured when an explosive device went off in Malegaon on September 29, 2008.
