MUMBAI: Resident doctors and interns from across the state condemned the attack on Dr Paribaha Mukhopadhyay and Dr Yash Tekwani by relatives of a 75-year-old man after he died of heart attack at Kolkata's NRS Hospital on Monday.
An image of Mukherjee's skull X-ray, which showed a prominent dent on the right front portion of the skull, went viral, further enraging the community.

"It's the government's failure to create a safe environment for us while they are busy planning global health interventions and policies and neglecting actual problems faced by healthcare providers. There are no laws for punishing a mob. How long are we just going to blame the security, who are most of the time untrained?" the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) stated.
