MUMBAI: After a couple of warm days, maximum and minimum temperatures dipped on Saturday.
IMD's Santacruz observatory recorded a
minimum temperature of 15.4 degrees Celsius, down from Friday's 18.8 degrees. Similarly, at the
Colaba observatory, the minimum temperature was down from 20 degrees to 18.5 degrees.
The minimum temperatures at Santacruz and
Colaba were 3.3 and 2 degrees below normal respectively.
The maximum temperatures too saw a decrease and were below normal on Saturday. The day temperature recorded at the Santacruz observatory was 29.8 degrees and at Colaba it was 29.5 degrees.
Weather department experts attributed the dip to wind pattern. "Winds are north-westerly, which resulted in a dip in temperature. Temperatures are expected to rise from Sunday," said Shubhangi Bhute from IMD.
