A couple from Versova was arrested recently for allegedly using forged documents to travel to the US and stay there illegally.

MUMBAI: A couple from Versova was arrested recently for allegedly using forged documents to travel to the US and stay there illegally. Mohammed Arif Rizwan (32) and his wife Sathiya (29) were caught after officials of the US Consulate found that their documents had been forged, said an official from BKC police station. The couple planned to migrate along with their three-year-old son.

The police are also on the lookout for the agent who had helped them obtain the forged documents, including fake bank statements, immigration stamps. "The couple claims they planned to fly to the US on a travel visa and then look for a job. To get fake documents, they paid Rs7.5 lakh to the agent who is on the run," said an officer.
