NASHIK: City resident Anuj Shah's long cherished dream to go on a family tour to Palitana temple in Bhavnagar district in Gujarat came true when Trujet started its flight services from Ozar airport on Wednesday.
"We have been planning a family tour to Palitana temple for the past few years. Unfortunately, it could not materialise in the past. When we came to know that Trujet is starting Nashik-Ahmedabad flights, we firmed up our decision to fly to Ahmedabad by the inaugural flight and then travel to Palitana by road," Shah told TOI.
He booked the tickets of all six family members for Ahmedabad and flew in the Trujet's maiden flight on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hyderabad-based private airline, TruJet, launched its Nashik-Ahmedabad flights under the second phase of regional connectivity scheme (RCS). Initially, TruJet will operate a 70-seater flight for four days a week-from Wednesdays to Saturdays.
This is the third airline to operate from Ozar airport. Jet Airways and Alliance Air have already connected Nashik with some destinations in the country. This is the second airline to offer air connectivity beteween Ahmedabad with Nashik.
"The response from air travellers for the inaugural flight was overwhelming. A total of 100 passengers travelled on the Nashik-Ahmedabad and Ahmedabad-Nashik flights today. We have plans to increase our operations to six days a week in future, barring Sundays," said Sudhir Raghvan, commercial head of TruJet.
Another flier from Nashik, Rajendra Waghalkar, said that he was keen to fly with his parents to Ahmedabad. "It fructified today as I am flying with my parents for the first time," added Waghalkar.
