NAVI MUMBAI: A major
fire broke out at a chemical warehouse near Dighode village in
Uran around 10.30 pm on Saturday. However, there was no casualty reported.
Fire tenders from
Dronagiri, New Panvel, Kalamboli, Ulwe, JNPT and ONGC rushed to the spot for fire fighting operations, said Cidco's chief fire officer Vijay Rane.
"As the fire was uncontrollable due the huge storage of chemicals that became fodder for the blaze to rage, more fire engines were summoned from NMMC areas like from Vashi, Nerul, CBD and emergency response station at Pawane," Rane said.
The fire fighting operation was underway till late night.
