A diver enters into drainage manhole at S K Puri in Patna on Friday during rescue search operation jointly conducted by NDRF and SDRF for ten years old boy Dipak
PATNA: The joint search operation by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) failed to trace 10-year-old Deepak Kumar, who fell into an open drain adjacent to a sump house at Punaichak on November 17, even on Friday.
The teams continued the search operation in the 40metre underground drainage line adjacent to Basawan Park sump house on Friday.
SDRF deputy commandant SS Yadav, who is heading the search operation, said a large heap of garbage and slush clogged the drain in between 40metre-long drainage line. “The divers entered manholes at two locations in S K Puri, but to no avail,” Yadav said.
Twenty NDRF and eleven SDRF personnel have been conducting the search operation. The PMC had prepared the route chart of the drain with the help of the rescue teams.
A dog squad was also involved in the search operation on Thursday. A trained sniffer dog was taken to the spot where the boy fell into the drain by the Patna Police, but nothing was found.
