All Jet Airways flights from Patna cancelled till March 30
According to Jet Airways executives at the Patna airport, several flights, except those flying under the Udan scheme, have been cancelled across the country till March 30 due to operational reasons.
PATNA: Debt-ridden Jet Airways on Friday cancelled all its five flights operating from the Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport till March 30. Consequently, hundreds of passengers, who were stranded at the airport, stood in long queues at the airline’s counter and sought refunds.
According to Jet Airways executives at the Patna airport, several flights, except those flying under the Udan (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, have been cancelled across the country till March 30 due to operational reasons.
Hence, only the Allahabad-Patna-Allahabad flight of Jet Airways, which is part of the Udan scheme and flies thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, is operational at the Patna airport.
“The Mumbai-Patna-Mumbai (9W 180) flight and three others between Delhi and Patna (9W 731, 9W 728 and 9W 781) have been cancelled till March 30,” said an official.
A tweet, which was posted on Jet Airways’ official Twitter handle on March 19, stated, “Due to operational reasons, our flight schedules have been impacted. We truly regret the inconvenience and would like to assure you that our customer support teams are working 24X7 to ensure that our guests are re-accommodated or provided with a full refund.”
Due to abrupt cancellations, passengers had a harrowing time at the airport.
Mahnar (Vaishali) resident Shadab Khan, who works with a private firm at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, is on a holiday and spending time with his family these days. He has to rejoin office on March 30.
“I was supposed to board a Patna-Mumbai-Jeddah flight on March 29. However, Jet Airways first cancelled my domestic flight from Patna to Mumbai and later the connecting flight from Mumbai to Jeddah,” an agitated Shadab told this newspaper on Friday.
Like Shadab, electrical engineer Kunal Singh is also in a dilemma as his flight to Kuwait has also been cancelled. He said, “All Jet Airways fights operating from Patna have been cancelled till March 30. However, my flight is scheduled for April 3. I do not understand why my ticket has been cancelled as well.”
