PATNA: Altogether 13 aspiring women entrepreneurs from Patna on Saturday completed a 15-week-long programme, ‘DreamBuilder: Helping women entrepreneurs transform ideas into enterprise’, organised by US Consulate General Kolkata along with Patna-based NGO Bihar Institute of Economic Studies (BIES).
The programme was aimed at promoting the spirit of innovation for women entrepreneurs by providing them technical knowledge and support to develop viable business plans.

The programme, which had commenced in February, saw participation of 13 aspiring women entrepreneurs, who had minimal experience in running their own businesses. The programme used an online entrepreneurial skill-building course to refine the talents of the selected women participants.
After successfully completing the training sessions, the participants of the programme presented their business plans during a final ‘pitch’ session at a hotel here on Saturday in presence of Jay Treloar, deputy director of the American Center-Kolkata. The participants also shared the best practices which they learned during the course.
“Entrepreneurship and innovation represent the best of the US-India partnership. The governments of the two countries appreciate the critical and positive impact that an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and innovation has on a nation’s economy and overall progress. I commend the participants for their hard work and wish them success in their business ventures,” Treloar said.
Officials from US Consulate General-Kolkata said the governments of India and the US co-hosted the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad in 2017 on the theme of ‘Women first, prosperity for all’.
“The US Consulate is proud to support entrepreneurship skills building and promotion programmes in Bihar, Jharkhand and throughout east and northeast,” said Deepa Datta, US Consulate media coordinator.
