Bihar: Only three blocks unaffected by Covid-19 in Saran district

The Covid-19 pandemic has so far failed to spread its tentacles in three blocks in Saran district, namely Jalalpur, Panapur and Maker. However, it has marked its presence in remaining 17 blocks is the district. With reports of three more positive cases on Monday and four cases on Tuesday, the total number of positive patients in the district surged to 42.

CHHAPRA: The Covid-19 pandemic has so far failed to spread its tentacles in three blocks in Saran district, namely Jalalpur, Panapur and Maker. However, it has marked its presence in remaining 17 blocks is the district. With reports of three more positive cases on Monday and four cases on Tuesday, the total number of positive patients in the district surged to 42.
Out of the 42 Covid positive cases, patients are from Mashrakh, Taraiya, Ishuapur, Amnour, Ekma, Revilganj, Nagra, Garkha, Parsa, Sonepur, Dariapur, Dighwara, Manjhi, Lahladpur, Baniapur, Marhaura and Chhapra Sadar with maximum patients from Sonepur block.

According to Saran civil surgeon, Dr Madhweshwar Jha, those who were tested positive on Monday were from Garkha, Taraiya and the third patient was from Dariapur block and had returned recently from Mumbai. Besides, the fourth positive case is resident of Gopalganj district but has been lodged in quarantine camp in Chhapra Sadar hospital. This Gopalganj patient has recently returned from Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
With regard to four positive cases reported on Tuesday, two were from Marhaura, one from Ekma and another from Sonepur.
Meanwhile, as per a statement issued by district administration on Monday, altogether 26,508 migrants were staying in around 400 quarantine centres in the district. Earlier, there were about 43,360 migrants lodged in 565 quarantine camps but many of them have been released after completion of their 14-day quarantine period.
