People celebrated the International Yoga Day with much enthusiasm in the city. Most of the parks in Patna were crowded with people, who came in groups to perform yoga. Not just the parks, the Partliputra Khel Parisar and Gandhi Maidan too witnessed a huge footfall.
While performing yoga, people must choose a noise-free place. Understanding the basics of yoga and how to perform it in the correct manner are must for its positive results on body.
Mausam Sharma, a yoga expert said, “There is no specific time for yoga, but one must do it in a silent corner, away from hustle and bustle. Also, there must be a break of 10 seconds between two yoga asans.”
Since pollution level is very high in the city, most of the yoga experts stressed upon the fact that yoga can help our body fight pollution. “Pure air is very important for good health and mind. These days, people fall sick due to impure air that we breathe in. If a person performs yoga for at least half an hour, their body is purified and becomes active to beat pollution for the rest of the day,” Mausam added.
The yoga experts also taught them people techniques that can cure many diseases. Payal Singh, a yoga expert, said, “For those who are suffering from any disease, can select the yoga asans accordingly. For heart patients, Tadaasan, Vrikshasan, Trikonasan as well as Bhujangasan will work best. Those suffering from bronchitis can perform Anolom Vilom, Simahaasan, Utangaasan and Matasyayendraasan. Deep yogik breath, Nadisodhan pranayama, Kapalbhati, Pawanmultasan, Bhujangaasan, Setubandhaasan and Bandhkonaasan are good for asthma patients.”
