Bihar: Met predicts light rainfall

PATNA: The local meteorological office has predicted light rainfall in the state capital during the next 24 hours and dry weather in rest parts of the state. Rain lashed Patna on Monday afternoon giving residents some relief from the sultry weather conditions over the weekend.
Total 18.4mm rainfall was recorded in Patna on Monday after half an hour of downpour. Many commuters were seen enjoying the rain.
The weatherman said there would be partly cloudy sky in the city on Tuesday with the possibility of rain.
Explaining the prevailing weather conditions, meteorologists said the temperature increased up to 4 degrees Celsius.
According to IMD’s Patna office, a low pressure area was formed over north Rajasthan and southwest Uttar Pradesh, but it is not going to have any significant impact on weather conditions in Bihar.
“The rainfall brought us some relief. I was sweating enormously during my morning walk on Sunday. We expected rain and it occurred. We enjoyed the rainfall on Monday,” said Amit Kumar of Chhajjubagh area.
Anita Kumari said she liked the pleasant weather and hope it would continue for a few more days.
The Met office also predicted fall in temperature if it rained on Tuesday.
