PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s younger son and leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday extended an invitation to NDA ally and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) to join the Grand Alliance in the state. The RJD had earlier invited Upendra Kushwaha-led RLSP, another NDA ally, to join the opposition alliance.
“Paswan is a veteran leader and he has never betrayed us.
Though he has changed sides, we have no problem in welcoming him to Grand Alliance. If he wishes to join us, it will be his call,” Tejashwi said.
Tejashwi also slammed deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi for accusing his father Lalu Prasad of violating the conditions of his provisional bail by indulging in political activities, saying the BJP leader was trying to divert the attention of people from serious issues like drought-like condition in the state and deteriorating law and order.
“Modi is doing negative politics. Only court and doctors will decide whether Laluji is healthy or not. Modi should have at least visited my father to see his condition and the report from Asian Heart Hospital, Mumbai. He is after my father’s life. He doesn’t want my father to remain healthy. He is probably afraid of my father, that is why he makes baseless allegations against him,” Tejashwi told reporters at Patna airport after returning from Bali in Indonesia.
