Patna: SSP suspends Patrakar Nagar SHO for dereliction of duty

PATNA: Patna SSP Garima Malik on Friday placed Patrakar Nagar police station SHO Raj Kumar Singh under suspension after he was found to be guilty of not informing about a chain snatching incident to senior officials and inaction against a female constable who had beaten his brother’s father-in-law black and blue in front of the officer inside police station premises on May 29 and May 30 respectively.
Malik said that in addition to these two incident, the SHO had allegedly also set free a person almost a month back who was accused to selling his wife to another person after taking her to Rajashthan from Patna.
“City SP (east) Rajendra Kumar Bheel was given the charge of inquiry who submitted a report that all the allegations against him were found to be true. In addition, there were glaring loop holes left in the investigation of case lodged by women who was sold in Rajasthan,” she said.
Singh, an inspector rank officer had not informed any of the senior officials about daring incident in which three armed criminals had looted a gold chain from a woman on gunpoint when she was hardly few feet away from residence in Patrakar Nagar locality.
The woman was attacked on head by pistol by one of the criminals repeated due to which she had received she had received grievous injuries. The incident was recorded in multiple CCTV cameras installed in the locality which was later shown by in news channels. It was through the media that senior officials including SSP had come to known about the incident.
Next day, a woman constable Puja Kumari alias Shipra broke the nose of her brother’s father-in-law Anand Thakur (62) inside the police station premises resulting continuous bleeding inside.
Thakur had reached police station as his daughter Kavita Kumari was allegedly continuously getting tortured for dowry by her husband Vikram Kumar and Puja. Even after getting beaten, Thakur did not pressed any charges against Puja and others to avoid the relation getting strained further. However, he matter came to light before SSP after which the constable was suspended too.
