PATNA: The East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to run at least eight pairs of special trains on the Dhanbad-Sitamarhi, Malda Town-Anand Vihar, Malda Town-Delhi, Patna-Anand Vihar, Patna-Kota, Saharsa-Ambala and Darbhanga-Ambala routes to clear post-Holi rush of passengers.
According to ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the Dhanbad-Sitamarhi special train (03227/03228), which will run via the Jhjaha-Barauni-Samastipur route, will leave Dhanbad on March 23 and 30 at 6.30pm and reach Sitamarhi the next day at 7.30am.
On its return journey, it will leave Sitamarhi on March 24 and 31 at 9.30am and reach Dhanbad the same day at 11.45pm. The train will run with a load combination of 22 coaches — one 2AC, two 3AC, eight sleeper class, nine general and two brake vans.
“The Malda Town-Anand Vihar special (03429/03440), which will run via the Kiul-Mokama-Patna Junction route, will leave Malda on March 25 at 9.05am and reach Anand Vihar the following day at 2.10pm. On its return journey, it will leave Anand Vihar on March 26 at 5.10pm and reach Malda Town on Thursday night at 1.30am,” the CPRO said, adding the load combination of the train would be of 20 coaches.
Likewise, the Malda Town-Delhi special train (03483/03484) will leave Malda Town on March 29 at 7.10am and reach Delhi the next day at 2.30pm. On its return journey, it will leave Delhi on March 31 at 9.40pm and reach Malda Town on April 2 at 7.05am. Similarly, the Patna-Anand Vihar superfast special (02365/02366) will leave the Patna Junction on March 24 at 8.25pm and reach Anand Vihar the following day at 2.20pm. On its return journey, it will leave Anand Vihar on March 25 at 6.35pm and reach Patna the next day at 12.45pm. It will run with a load combination of 15 coaches — one 2AC, four 3AC, eight sleeper and two brake vans.
The Patna-Kota special (03237/03238) will leave the Patna Junction on March 24 at 5.30pm and reach Kota the next day at 5.30pm. On its return journey, it will leave Kota on March 25 at 7pm and reach Patna the next day at 5.15pm. The special train will have a load combination of 23 coaches.
Besides, the railways will run the Saharsa-Ambala Jansadharan special (05553) on March 23 and 24 to cope with post-Holi rush of passengers. The train will leave Saharsa at 7pm and reach Ambala the following day. Similarly, the Darbhanga-Ambala Jansadharan special (05541) will leave Darbhanga on March 23 and 28 at 3pm and reach Ambala the next day at 7pm. The train will run with a load combination of 20 coaches.
