Saket, Adarsh top BEd entrance test
PATNA: Saket Satyam and Adarsh Kumar of Aurangabad and Begausari districts, respectively secured the top position among the candidates who were declared successful in the state-level combined BEd entrance test. Of the total 120 marks, they secured 92 each. Chandani of Patna secured the first position among girls by scoring 90 marks.
The results of the combined entrance test were announced on Wednesday by Nalanda Open University (NOU) vice-chancellor (VC) Ravindra Kumar Sinha.
The entrance test for admissions to the two-year BEd course in all the recognized training colleges of the state was held on March 10 under strict security arrangements. The step to hold a combined entrance test was taken to stop alleged malpractices prevalent in the field of teachers’ training in different colleges and streamline the course.
Of the 1,26,464 candidates, who had applied for admission to the course, altogether 81,187 took the test. As many as 65,445 candidates, including 35,882 boys and 29,563 girls, were declared successful. The test was conducted at 124 centres in 10 district headquarters of the state and the maximum number of centres (51) was located in Patna. The minimum qualifying marks for general category students was 42 and that for reserved category students was 36. The total number of sanctioned seats in all the training colleges is 34,400.
According to NOU pro-VC Kriteshwar Prasad, online registration for counselling, college choice and payment of fees will begin on March 24 and end on April 5. The last date for choosing colleges online is April 10.
“The first round of seat allotment will be done from April 17 to 30. The selected candidates will report at their allotted institutions between May 6 and 15. Similarly, the second and third rounds of counselling will be held from May 5 to 30 and May 17 to June 10, respectively. Classes of the newly admitted students in all the training colleges will begin from July 1,” Prasad said.
