Seven-year-old girl sexually assaulted in Patna

PATNA: Police have launched a manhunt to arrest a man, Shaukat Sultan Khan alias Raju Khan (40), who has been accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.
Khan runs an NGO-cum-education centre at Samanpura under the Shashtri Nagar police station area in the city. The girl, a Class I student, accused Khan of sexually assaulting her at the centre where she had gone for studies on Sunday.
SHO of Shashtri Nagar police station Nehar Bhushan said children from underprivileged sections of society study at the centre.“Apart from Khan, the centre also has women teachers,” the SHO said, adding the accused took the girl to a secluded place and touched her private parts. The SHO said the girl’s mother has lodged an FIR with the police. “An FIR has been lodged against Khan under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act,” the SHO added.
