PATNA: A six-month-old girl child died after falling into a drain near
Durga Chowk in Indirapuri (road number 10) under the
Pataliputra police station area in the state capital around 4.30am on Wednesday. Police sources said the girl fell into the drain during sleep. Local people staged protest and accused the
Patna Municipal Corporation for not covering the drain.
Pataliputra SHO Chetnanand Jha told this newspaper that her body was fished out from the drain and sent to Patna Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.

Sunil Dome and mother near the drain outside their cottage.”
With the help of locals, the girl was fished out from the drain water and admitted to primary health centre where she was declared brought dead.
Jha added: “Several families lived in the cottage alongside the drain. There is no boundary wall around the drain.”
