PATNA: Government schools are facing problems while filling the online registration form for Class X and XII students under the
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). Several students and teachers, who faced the issue, reached the BSEB headquarters in
Patna on Wednesday and demanded the authorities to extend the deadline. The online registration of students began on July 6 and will end on July 20.
A Class XII student of Arts stream said his registration form was still incomplete.
“Some network error occurred each time the school staff tried to generate a challan for fee payment. The school even tried to contact the board’s officials, but to no avail. I have been standing outside its office for hours and nobody is ready to hear my grievances,” he said.
Commerce student Prashant Kumar complained that only two days were left for the registration and more than 80 Class XII students of his school had not got themselves registered.
According to Class X’s Vikash Sinha, “My school staff tried thrice to fill up the registration form, but the page got crashed. The board should extend the deadline and improve its website as there are a number of technical issues.”
Bharat Jha, a teacher at Prajapati Mishra Girls’ High School in West Champaran, nodded. “Of the 125 Intermediate students, 85 have been registered, while only 50 of the 205 Matric students have been successfully registered. Each time, our computer teacher tried to submit the registration form of Class X students, the page got crashed. In Class XII, registration of commerce students is incomplete.”
Bihar Secondary School Teacher’s Association president
Kedarnath Pandey said the board should extend the deadline for registration without charging late fee from the students.
“The schools are facing a lot of trouble and helpline numbers are not working,” he said, adding even last year, a number of students were not registered or wrong information was uploaded by the private agency hired by the board.
BSEB chairman told this reporter the decision to extend the deadline was likely to be taken on July 20.
