Truck driver shot dead in Patna

PATNA: A truck driver was shot dead by unidentified criminals in Biscomaun Colony at Kumhrar under the Alamganj police station area in Patna City on Monday. The deceased was identified as Md Tauheed, a resident of Buxar.
SHO of Alamganj police station C P Gupta said police have begun an investigation into the incident. “Tauheed reached Patna from Maharashtra on Sunday night and parked his mobil-laden truck in Biscomaun Colony.His body was recovered from the truck. Police also recovered Rs 25,000 in cash from the truck,” he said, adding efforts were on to trace the ‘khalasi’ of the truck, who went missing after the incident.
Woman dancer found murdered: The Gopalganj police on Monday recovered the body of one Gayatri Devi, a dancer associated with an orchestra group, from a rented apartment near under the Sidhhaliya police station area in the town. The deceased was wife of Manjeet Yadav, a resident of Rajapur under the Kesariya police station area in East Champaran. SHO of Sidhhaliya police station Suman Kumar Mishra said the woman’s body bore multiple injury marks. “Prima facie it seems to be a case of murder,” the SHO added.
Two criminals held: The Patna police on Monday arrested two notorious criminals – Rajmani Kumar and Abhishek Kumar – from Beur and Barh police station areas for their alleged involvement in the murder of one Sonu Kumar. Sonu’s body was recovered from a dug-up land at Chihuti village under the Parsa Bazaar police station area on May 25. City SP (east) Jitendra Kumar said the arrested criminals have confessed to their involvement in Sonu’s murder.
