PUDUCHERRY: The New Year will not only bring a change in the Union territory of Puducherry but also in the entire country, said chief minister V Narayanasamy in his New Year greetings.
Narayanasamy said the government overcame all hurdles imposed by certain forces by misusing and abusing their powers and successfully achieved several accomplishments in 2018.
He expressed optimism that the year 2019 will witness the prevention of a group rejected by the people that garnered power through the back door and ensure their defeat in taking revenge against the people for rejecting them.

He said 2018 saw the rapid growth of Puducherry in several spheres including justice, law and order, agriculture, industrial development and infrastructure that were lagging earlier. “I do not have an iota of doubt that this new year will only bring a change not only in Puducherry but also in the entire nation. The rising of the daystar in the northern parts of the country will rise throughout the nation,” he said.
He said the elected government, which has pledged to serve the people will place Union territory on the wheels of progress and development. “We must take a pledge on the New year to move in that direction. We must ignore the forces that divide us on the lines of religion, caste, race and language,” the chief minister said.
His cabinet colleagues and a host of leaders greeted people of Puducherry on the New Year eve.
