Pondicherry University ranks 11th among top central universities in India

PUDUCHERRY: Pondicherry University scored an overall 68.59 points in the Outlook-ICARE India University ranking 2019 and secured 11th rank among the central universities and 67th rank among all universities and institutions in the country.
The Outlook-ICARE India University ranking evaluates the institutions based on five parameters.
The university scored 81.2 for its students-faculty ratio, 74.9 for its faculty members with PhD, 63.6 for the number of paper presented per faculty, 70.4 for its number of citation per paper and 49.7 for its inclusiveness and diversity.
Outlook- ICARE India University ranking is one of the leading ranking frameworks in India apart from National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released by Union human resource development ministry.
Pondicherry University has been participating in many ranking frameworks and improving its performance over the years consistently.
The Times Higher Education University Impact rankings placed Pondicherry University between 101 and 200 ranks in two categories in , gender equality and climate action among world universities.
In earlier Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies University Rankings Pondicherry University was ranked between 201 and 250 ranks.
Similarly, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019, Pondicherry University jumped 14 spots than the previous year and was placed 48th from the previous 59th position. The university is looking to scale greater heights in the coming years. The university has dedicated teaching and non-teaching faculty members to ensure a better academic environment for research scholars and students.
