Pondicherry varsity’s 2-day dance fest ends
PUDUCHERRY: Pondicherry University organized ‘Attam 2018’, a dance contest, as a part of its ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ initiative to celebrate the country’s unity in diversity and to promote the spirit of national integration by showcasing the rich and diverse heritage, culture, customs and traditions.
“This is an initiative to enlighten our brethren to understand and appreciate our unique quality of unity in diversity.
The initiative is to establish long-term engagements and create an environment to promote and share best practices and experiences among different states in the country,” said Pondicherry University vice-chancellor Gurmeet Singh while addressing the concluding session of the two-day event.
Singh later presented prizes to the winners of the contest in the presence of dean (humanities) Nalini J Thampi and others.
