BALCO sets up modern isolation wards at Raipur, Korba for Covid-19 patients

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh's industrial town Korba has got an isolation ward with modern facilities including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits at a hospital run by Bharat Alluminium Company Ltd (BALCO).
A spokesperson of BALCO said that in the view of spread of deadly coronavirus, some major steps are being taken by the company. As a part of this, a single room isolation ward has been set in hospital run in Korba.Besides, isolation ward with 10 rooms have been set up at Balco Medical Center in Nava Raipur with 10 rooms. The wards have been duly checked and approved by the concerned district authorities.
The hospital premises is disinfected twice everyday through chlorine solution following the SOPs of sanitization. For the last one month pamphlets for coronavirus awareness are being distributed in the hospital and community.
He said adding that the hospital has also been working as an exclusive extension to the government machinery in screenings of the entire community to prevent the spread of this deadly virus at Korba region. Dedicated ambulance service with proper PPE kits has been arranged for transportation of the patients in case of requirement.
Similarly, other initiatives includes, screening of all the people who are coming from other states or infected areas, the day to day report of same is being sent to collector and CMHO. A help desk for corona virus has been started and people who require quarantine are being sent to govt quarantine centres with the help of authorities concerned.
As a part of CSR activity, an awareness vehicle was flagged off to spread awareness to the communities at large through audio broadcasting.
