Chhattisgarh: After over a month-long wait, stranded finally reach home

After medical screening at the railway station, people were sent to their districts by buses and they will be kept in quarantine centres for 14 days as a precautionary measure against coronavirus spread.
RAIPUR: As many as 178 passengers of seven districts of Chhattisgarh including workers, students and others reached Raipur in a special train from Lingampally, Telangana.
Besides, another Shramik special train reached Bilaspur on Tuesday afternoon from Ahmedabad, carrying around 1,200 migrants who were stranded in Gujarat.
The 178 passengers were from various districts including 14 from Raipur, 126 from Gariaband, 22 from Bastar, eight from Dhamtari, five from Kanker, one from Dantewada and two from Mahasamund district respectively.

Besides Raipur, the train also halted at Rajnandgaon and Durg before heading for Bilaspur.

Those returning to Raipur city were lodged at the Radha Swami Satsang Vyas at Dharampur on the outskirts of Raipur, quarantine facility while those travelling further to rural parts of the districts will be quarantined at gram panchayat and school buildings in their native places.

Shramik special trains carrying migrant labourers and people in distress and need of urgent medical care will arrive Raipur railway station on May 13 from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Other shramik special trains will arrive state capital on May 15 and 17 from Lucknow in UP and one train from Muzaffarpur in Bihar on May 16.
Raipur collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan said that other Shramik trains would reach Raipur from Lucknow on May 13, 15 and 17 respectively while another train would reach Raipur carrying labourers from Muzaffarpur in Bihar on May 16.
