A video grab of the incident where the duo is seen misbehaving and savagely dragging a woman cleaner and her newborn child out of the hostel.
RAIPUR: A girls' hostel superintendent and her husband, a government teacher, were suspended and booked for misbehaving and savagely dragging a woman cleaner and her newborn child out of the hostel.
Before the video of the incident went viral in Koriya district, the accused duo managed to flee the spot. The video was shot by cleaner’s husband and the most shocking scene was when warden’s husband asked minor girls of hostel to throw belongings as well as her woman’s newborn outside.
The incident took place at Badwahi girls' hostel in Janakpur on August 10, while the video went viral on Sunday following which, the hostel warden Sumila Singh and her husband Ranglal, who works as a government school teacher were suspended followed by an FIR lodged against them.

There were allegations that the accused couple managed to flee because of delay in police action, as the victims had made a complaint on August 11 itself but no FIR was lodged. In fact, Ranglal allegedly approached the woman later trying to bribe her with Rs 1 lakh and pleaded to forget the incident, to which she refused. A day later, the warden couple went at large.
The video shows that Ranglal was scolding the poor woman identified as Chandrakanta with her baby lying beside inside the quarter given to her on hostel premises. He was seen instructing girls to pick her belongings and throw outside and one of the girls was asked to take the newborn out of bed and out. Meanwhile, the warden was also collecting her stuff from the room and throwing them out. The victim woman meanwhile stayed calm and didn't object.

When Ranglal asked her to get out and started pulling the bedsheet she was sitting on, the woman resisted stepping down of the bed. The man then beats her and pulls her off the bed, dragging her from both hands pulls her out of the room he throws her out of the premises. While her baby lies unattended on the dirty and wet ground outside, the woman objects over the misbehaviour and the man pushes her so hard that she falls on the ground.
The warden couple then locks the door and leaves amid abuses from both ends and few onlookers on the sight.
Police indicates that the warden couple was infuriated over the woman because she had earlier informed police about warden allowing entry of an outsider male in the hostel on Friendship Day, which is against the rules. As per the government’s directives, no males or outsiders were allowed inside residential hostels which includes superintendent's husband.
Koriya SP Vivek Shukla told TOI that police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC against the duo and the investigation was underway while a special team of cops was formed to trace the accused couple.
