The Chhattisgarhi community celebrated Gauri Gaura
puja with much
pomp and gaiety in
Raipur where a large number of people converged to celebrate the pastoral life of people of
Chhattisgarh. Folk dancers performed 'Gedi', 'Karma', 'Sua', 'Raut Nacha', 'Panthi Nritya' and 'Gauri Gaura'.
Folk artists, dance troupes and folk singers added the authentic traditional flavour to the festivities.
Nearly 500 folk dancers dressed in traditional attire performed in the procession held on the occasion. Songs such as 'Arpa Pairi Ke Dhaar' were played in adoration of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahtari’, and Hareli special folk songs were also sung with traditional instruments such as Jhanjhar, Maandar and Gudum Baja.
